The Great Christmas Tree Hunt

Well, we are going to make a more concerted effort to keep the blog updated more regularly. Notice there are a couple of new features on the right side including current weather from Raleigh and possibly the funniest politcal advertisement in the history of elections. If you haven't seen it yet, just click on the video. It's hilarious. Ok, on to the posting. A couple of weeks ago we went out to get our Christmas tree. Things can be done a little differently here than they are in Florida since trees actually grow here. So we set out to the farms to cut down our own tree. We had a blast running through the thousands of trees and just enjoying the beautiful weather. After we had had enough, we went to Home Depot and bought a tree just like we used to in Florida. Maybe next year.

This Little Light of Mine...

Beware of the Masked "Christmas Light Strangler!"
What, is this a hazard or something?
Guess So!!!

Fun with Camera Settings!

"...big ones, small ones, some as big as your head..."
Max plots just exactly how he is going to climb the tree.
Harper knows exactly which ornament is hers!

Fall at Hedingham

At the entrance to our neighborhood, these are the same trees that bloomed bright white in the spring.

Overlooking the lake.

Neuse River Park

Actually, its a canoe drop off, where you can also fish and hike a little along the river. This is the same place we came to last year when we first moved here, and it was also the dead of winter. Although still cold, I have to say this is my favorite time of year thus far in NC. All the leaves have changed to bright shades of red, yellow, orange, and green and its not so cold out that you can't stand it. This time Harper got to enjoy it from outside the womb, and we actually got to do a little hiking too....just a little. 11/23/07

At least Harper was ready for the picture to be taken.
Either Max is clinging on for dear life, or he really loves me a lot.
Stop! Who Goes There?!

Just trying not to fall backward.
Dont worry, Josh is still holding on to Harper...not just her jacket.

Its beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS.

After we got back from Thanksgiving Dinner, we decided to start decorating for Christmas. So we put Harper to bed, and We and Max got started. This is the first year that Max really understands whats going on, and it just makes it so much fun. Next weekend we will be getting our tree!

Mommy's boy.

Cozy.

Happy Thanksgiving!

On Thanksgiving Day we went over to our friends Jen and Bradley's house to partake in the day of Thanks and Turkey. We were so excited that they were not going to be travelling this year, so we didnt have to spend the day by ourselves! Josh cooked the turkey (Emeril Style) and the dressing, and Jen did all of the "fixins". I.....well, I made sure the kids were out of the way:) We had a really great time with all the food, friends, and FOOTBALL! Emma, Max, and Braden
Although a little snotty, Harper was still excited about her first Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Festivities

Apparently Harper didnt get enough to eat.
Watching the Cowboys and playing Cowboy.

I think whatever chemical that is in turkey is starting to set in.

Playtime!

11/12/2007
Yesterday morning Josh and I were not feeling well, so we pretty much sat on the couch literally all day to try and shake it off. By 530 the kids were stir crazy, so we took them to the playground to get some energy out. We took the camera along with us. Harper was a little more willing to be photographed, but as you can imagine Max just wanted to PLAY!

So if you can't tell by now....she liked it.

Weeeeeeeeeee!

There was a little ghost boy on the swings, so Josh felt bad and gave him a push.
